Practical guide · files stay on your device

Place your text, review the preview, save a separate copy.

A text watermark is a visible pixel edit. Use it for a readable label or credit you are entitled to add; it does not establish ownership or prevent copying.

No account required. Prepare resources explicitly before local processing. Inspection is free; cleaning and cleaned downloads require a license.

Supported input

  • Supported still images accepted by the tool.
  • A bounded batch of up to 8 files; inspect the actual inputs and displayed limits.

Key takeaways

  • Inspect first for free. File format and structure—not the extension alone—determine eligible cleaning.
  • A new image with the chosen visible text watermark.
  • Text or an optional transparent PNG logo up to 2 MiB and 1 MP, with position, scale, margin, opacity, rotation and repetition. Logo colors/transparency are composited into a working copy.

How to do it safely

  1. Choose supported images in Add watermark. Keep the originals and review any refused inputs.
  2. Enter your own text and choose from the tool’s local-font options.
  3. Use the available placement, appearance and tiling controls. Review the live preview at a useful size.
  4. Check that text does not cover a face, product detail or legally required information.
  5. Use the existing licensed export action. Inspect each saved result separately, especially when source sizes differ.

What this workflow produces

  • A new image with the chosen visible text watermark.

What it does not promise

  • Text or an optional transparent PNG logo up to 2 MiB and 1 MP, with position, scale, margin, opacity, rotation and repetition. Logo colors/transparency are composited into a working copy.
  • At most 8 files per watermark batch, 25 MiB and 32 MP combined; each image at most 8 MP.
  • Pixel edits and re-encoding can change image appearance and provenance assertions.

Retained

  • The original and previous completed results.
  • Other visible and identifying content outside the edit.

Not checked

  • Ownership, rights enforcement, resistance to removal, or authenticity.
  • Invisible SynthID detection or removal.

Understand the evidence

The preview and checked saved export show the deliberate visible edit. They do not prove invisible watermarking, ownership or anonymity.

Processing, comparisons and verification receipts stay local. PixelRinse sends no product-usage events. Payment and legacy license upgrades are separate online actions that never include selected file contents, names, hashes or metadata.

Common questions

More answers

Can I remove a visible watermark, remove a background or add text?

Yes, within the stated image, model and device limits. These tools are part of Individual Pro, not a new subscription or credit system.

Technical details and limits

Visible-pattern review is bounded to tested legacy 48/96 px Gemini white-alpha overlays at documented corner positions. Review every candidate; weak matches require manual selection. LaMa generates plausible pixels inside a chosen mask, not recovered originals. BiRefNet-lite estimates a cutout matte with manual edge refinement; difficult hair, glass and low contrast can be imperfect. Text watermarks use local fonts. Prepare only the selected model explicitly; weights/runtime are cached, while your files, masks, text and results remain local and ephemeral.

Does watermark removal detect or remove invisible SynthID?

No. Visible overlays, metadata and invisible SynthID are different things.

Technical details and limits

PixelRinse has no independently validated, browser-local SynthID image, video or audio detector/remover. A visible overlay being removed, a metadata packet disappearing or a file looking different is not proof about invisible SynthID. Local text research needs the original watermark configuration/key and tokenizer and does not validate an image tool. Pixel edits can invalidate C2PA assertions; they do not restore provenance or authenticity.

Can I compress, resize and convert an image locally?

Yes. Quality, crop, rotation, dimensions and format are combined in one local export; the original stays unchanged.

Technical details and limits

JPEG/WebP offer lossy quality settings and bounded target-size search. PNG defaults to lossless; optional RGB color reduction (32 levels/channel, up to 8 MP) deliberately changes colors without quantizing alpha. Compare actual bytes: output can grow. Crop and enlargement are off by default. Animation is refused; secondary JPEG photos need explicit primary-only consent. HEIC remains conditional on validated decoding and HDR/color/auxiliary effects, with PNG/JPEG output only. Processing and exports of your files still require the existing Individual Pro license; free inspection and fixed synthetic demos remain.
